Tinker Board | The Broadway of Functionality

Asus is taking its computing business seriously and we are more than happy for that fact. They have been cooking up something small, cheap and powerful and boy have they been able to do wonders. They have named it Tinker Board but don’t go after the name, it is much more powerful than you think.

Raspberry Pi has been the favorite for quite some time due to the fact that it had practically no competition to go against it. Now there is and it is very good in terms of functionality.

The Tinker Board carries a 1.84GHz ARM Cortex A17 CPU. This comes coupled along with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. You won’t be running out of USB ports any time soon as the board has 4 USB ports 2.0. Tinker Board has Bluetooth, gigabit LAN, swappable 802.11 b/g/n WiFi antennas and last but not the least and best of the lot an HDMI 2.0 port which sports 4K videos.

The price of the Tinker Board is as special as the board itself. It comes at a very reasonable price of $68. Comparing it to the Pi Model 3, Tinker Board handles codecs of H.264 and H.265 but where it lacks is that it does not sport Netflix at 4K which is kind of a bummer but then again it wasn’t meant to be your mainstream media center. Compared to Pi Model 3, Tinker Board will handle graphics more easily as it has double the RAM and better graphics card (Mali T-764).

There are many impressive PCs that you can buy but when it comes to budget boards, the game is just getting impressive with more power at cheap prices. Expensive gadgets might be a thing of the past until or unless we really get resource hungry apps or software.

Tinker Boards can be used for your gadgets as well and on your smart TVs like the Samsung Smart TV which you can get at half the price right here.
