We all got excited when Xbox announced its project Scorpio and now that secret is finally being revealed. We have got all the news of the specs detailed in this article. The announcement was made during E3 2016. Details about the console being the most powerful were coming in and Xbox claimed it would be.
Xbox has been coming up with spec bumps even before project Scorpio. They introduced small spec bumps in Xbox One S (slim). Now they have just turned up to a whole new level beating Playstation 4 Pro on paper.
Keep in mind that Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio belong to the same generation of console gaming and not a new one. All the titles will be produced for Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox project Scorpio. So there is no need to worry if you still own any of the current gen consoles, you will be able to play all the titles.
Xbox project Scorpio is the most powerful console to be ever produced. Microsoft is targeting real 4K gaming. For reference Playstation 4 Pro upscales games to 4K. Project Scorpio will carry 6 TFLOPs of performance power while PS4 Pro maxes out at 4.2 TFLOPs.
Xbox One (S) uses a huge part of its graphics RAM for the OS which means that the users are left with 6 to 6.5 GB of graphics memory to play games with. This was the reason Playstation 4 led the race (along with many other reasons).
Project Scorpio will be 4.6 times more powerful than current gen Xbox. This won’t matter much since the developers will be making games for Xbox One, Xbox One S and project Scorpio. The best bit is project Scorpio will be able to play native 4K games but given the rigorous performance the console will have to put out, we would wait for the heating tests to finish. Not because Microsoft isn’t doing thorough testing of its hardware but now a days high performance products need to be tested in real life before being bought.
