Are you one of those many Galaxy S8 owners whose phone’s fate has not been so fortunate? Well Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is just around the corner and we couldn’t be happier. Many of our readers have reported their Galaxy S8 breaking after just being dropped once from a very low height. Screens and dreams have been shattered of Galaxy S8 owners after a very little time of possessing their phones.
As the story has been, Samsung is launching the Galaxy S8 Active. The ‘Active’ series of the flagship Galaxy series of phones has a very rugged body and increased toughness for the most demanding conditions. Galaxy S8 Active has been leaking for quite a while on the internet now. The Galaxy S8 Active has an increased battery capacity of 4000mAh. This is 1000mAh more than the outgoing Galaxy S8. The phone comes with a rugged body as expected. As complaints have come for Galaxy S8 being prone to breaking easily, there would be a lot of consumers looking forward to the Galaxy S8 Active this time around. Owning the latest and greatest Android flagship from Samsung has not been so easy for the consumers. With great design comes a great sacrifice and this time it was the sacrifice of the phone being too fragile as compared to its ancestors. Galaxy S8 Active will be saving us the trouble though.
Galaxy S8 Active will be larger than the normal version of Galaxy S8 as has been the case with ‘Active’ series in the past due to the increased durability. The phone will be weighing 7.3 oz which is reasonably heavier than its predecessor. Galaxy S8 Active will feature the infinity curved edgeless display. The phone’s display will also be shatterproof. The phone will have the same IP 68 certification which means it will be water and dustproof but Galaxy S8 Active will also have MIL-STD-810G military grade certification.
The phone will come with Android 7.0 out-of-the-box. We don’t know why Samsung won’t be launching it with Android 7.1, but we guess it is something we can ignore as Samsung phones have one of the best update cycles in the smartphone world.
