LG is really trying hard to win customers in all of the smartphone segments. LG has been a major player in mid-range phones for quite some time now. This time around, LG is looking to take things up a notch by being an industry first in the smartphone arena. For the first time ever LG will be introducing a more than 85% screen-to-body ratio in midrange smartphone category.
We have seen this trend time and over again that specs, gimmicks and features that are introduced in flagship phones, slowly make their way on to mid ranges. The nearly infinite display was launched this year by LG and Samsung and it has just been a few months. LG will be following the same design language for its midrange phones as well. This is a huge step to capture the market as Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and other players still haven’t been able to make such huge progress in their midranges phones.
LG will launching the LG Q series soon and the first phone will be the LG Q6. As the name gives it away, the phone will be following the footsteps of G6 in terms of design. The LG Q6 will have a 5.5 inch panel with QHD resolution. Front of the display would be dominated by the screen and this is going to be the first midrange phone in the world to offer an above 85% screen-to-body ratio.
Q6 will come with a SD 435 processor along with 3GB of RAM. Built-in storage is said to be 32GB. Alongside with Q6, LG will be launching the Q6+ model which will have twice as much as storage at 64GB and 4GB of RAM. The third model, LG Q6a will have 16GB storage and 2GB of RAM. All phones will have a 13 megapixel shooter at the back and an 8MP selfie cam.
The price is expected to be around $300 as rumored. LG is really considering capturing the midrange market which is expanding at a fast rate. Midrange phones are said to have the biggest chunk in the smartphone sales in a few years. LG certainly has its game right. We really hope LG focuses on its flagships too to regain its once lost glory.
