Amazon just launched its all new Fire TV 2017 with 4K HDR support. The new Fire TV is a step ahead in almost every department. It has a faster processor than before, supports 4K HDR content, has Alexa build into it and it comes in a more compact packaging.
Fire TV 2017 starts is priced at a very reasonable $69.99. The new device is now compact, gone is the old puck shape. The device now lets you plug in HDMI cable directly into it without a need for any external connector. The Fire TV still has to be plugged in to your wall.
Fire TV is powered by an all new Amlogic processor that comes with 4x Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. The graphics processor is Mali-450 MP3. Fire TV 2017 comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. All this power lets you play your content in 4K HDR at 60fps.
Fire TV comes with support of Dolby Atmos, which will let users use their home theater systems with the new Fire TV. However, there is no support for Dolby Vision, which the Apple TV 4K has. A separate antenna can be bought to watch cable network so that you are not just limited to streaming.
Fire TV 2017 comes with Alexa support which is a big plus as you can connect all your Echo devices to it and control your Fire TV with voice commands. There is Alexa support through the remote as well.
TVs are getting smarter day-by-day and with the 4K race, there is no time left for other streaming device manufacturers to launch their versions of 4K TV. Alexa is another sweet addition that might change the way we use our TVs altogether.
