ZTE Axon M | World’s First Fold-able Phone

Most of world’s smartphone innovation is coming from China and now ZTE just announced the ZTE Axon M which is the world’s first fold-able phone. ZTE has beaten Apple, Samsung and Sony at their own game of innovating smart devices.

ZTE Axon M has two screens which are connected by a hinge. It does not have a screen that bends like the concept phones we get to see online but nonetheless, this is an all new form factor introduced by ZTE.

You can fold the phone and have a display running on either side and when you open it complete flat, the screen area is 6.75 inches. There are massive bezels that don’t actually help the cause of making the screen look like a complete display.

ZTE Axon M has multiple modes of usage. The two panels measuring 5.2 inches each can be used in various ways. The panels have a resolution of 1080p and are LCD displays. Firstly, there is the dual mode where you can open one app per screen. This will allow you to work on two different apps at once just like the Android split screen feature. Secondly, we have the extended view where the phone acts as a single screen of 6.75 inches and you can do anything on that canvas. Next, we have the mirror mode where you can watch the same content on both the screens. This helps when the person you are with is sitting across. Lastly, we have the traditional mode where only once screen is powered on and you can use the ZTE Axon M like a normal phone.

As far as the specs are concerned, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The battery capacity is 3,180mAh. The phone includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is only one camera which is a 20MP snapper. ZTE Axon M will be running on Android Nougat 7.2.1.

The price of the phone will be $725. Let us know in the comments section, if you find this fold-able phone attractive or will you stick with mainstream phones.
