Nokia has been going strong with its smartphone lineup and HMD has been making all the right moves. Nokia just announced the Nokia 2. There are several specs that make the phone special in an already concentrated market space. Let’s go through the specs to find out what makes the phone special.
Nokia 2 carries Snapdragon 212 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz. The processor has four ARM A7 cores which are able to run the Nokia 2 smoothly. Although, the phone is powered by a humble processor, the chipset forms a perfect combination with the whopping 4,100 mAh battery. The Snapdragon 212 is power efficient at the same time which helps the phone run through two full days on a single charge. This is impressive given most low-priced phones don’t even manage 1 whole day of proper phone usage on a single charge.
The RAM on the phone is 1GB and the internal storage is 8GB. There is expandable storage on board thanks to the microSD card slot. The display is 5.0 inches with a resolution of 720p. There is a 5MP snapper at front and the rear camera is 8MP. The phone comes with Android 7.1 Nougat. The UI is close to stock Android experience which is a plus for many purists.
This is the first entry level phone in the world that comes with Google Assistant. Furthermore, the phone has unlimited storage option for photos and videos in Google Photos which will help cope up with the limited internal storage.
The phone is expected to launch globally in mid-November. It will be priced at a modest 99 Euros. Nokia 2 seems affordable and for many Nokia fans, a way to enjoy latest Nokia offerings at a cheap price on their favorite UI platform.
