Great phones from China are flooding the market and we couldn’t be happier. Oppo is one of the biggest names and they have been adamant in providing phones with great specs at reasonable prices. Oppo has just announced the A79.
Based on the flagship R11s, the A79 has the same design with toned down internals. The Oppo A79 has a 6-inch OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The resolution of the screen is 2180×1080 pixels. The font panel has massively trimmed bezels which gives it a more modern look.
The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P23 chipset which runs at 2.5GHz. The octa-core processor has A-53 CPU cores. The phone has 4GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB. There is also a memory card slot for expanding the phone’s memory. Oppo A79 has a huge battery of 3,000mAh capacity. It also has Oppo’s VOOC fast charging.
Oppo A79 has two 16MP cameras – one at the back and one at the front. The difference between the cameras is the aperture. The rear camera has a higher aperture of f/1.8 whereas, the front facing camera has an aperture of f/2.0. There is a rear mounted fingerprint scanner below the camera at the back of the phone.
Oppo A79 runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with massive customizations of Color OS 3.2. The phone goes on sale on December 1st for $360.
