Samsung’s A8 and A8+ have gone official. These are two mid-range masterpieces that come with Samsung’s with 2017 bezel-less design. The A8 is successor to A5 (2017) and A7 (2017). The A8 is the only series by Samsung that has come close to their S series devices.
The phones look stunning and also feature something unique that no other Samsung phone has to offer. A8 and A8+ come with dual front facing cameras. The duo is a 16MP and 8MP combination. The Live Focus feature on board lets you decide whether to keep the background in focus or blurred or give it a soft bokeh effect. A8 can switch seamlessly between the two cameras to provide you the effect you need.
The camera at the rear is a 16MP sensor with a bright aperture of f.1.7. With an aperture that good, night time photography will be a breeze and indoor pictures will look stunning. Digital stabilization is on board for steadier videos. We are big fans of OIS though as digital stabilization is slightly inferior compared to optical image stabilization. Hyperlapse feature will let you explore your smartphone photography side to a whole new level.
The phones come in two sizes 5.6-inch (A8) and 6-inch (A8 plus). Both panels have an FHD+ resolution which is pretty understandable as they are the first A-series phones to support VR. On top of that the phones have an Infinity Display and a screen aspect ratio of 18:9. The internal memory options of the phones are 32GB and 64GB coupled with 4GB RAM. The memory is expandable via a microSD card.
A8 has a battery capacity of 3,000mAh while the A8+ has a battery capacity of 3,500mAh. The phones are IP68 certified and come with USB Type-C charging. We might see the phones being introduced at CES 2018 as well.
