Xiaomi has been a long standing contender in beating Apple as the company that makes most attractive devices. So much so that they have been called Apple of China. With the latest release of their flagship it seems like that the company went a bit too far when launching Xiaomi Mi 8, their latest and greatest flagship. Xiaomi Mi 8 is the first Xiaomi phone with a notch and a plethora of new tech.
The phone has a 6.21-inch OLED screen. Many big manufacturers are now moving towards OLED screens since they have better contrast, use less power and are thinner. The resolution of the screen is FHD+ with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The internals of the phone consist of Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM. The phone has a 20MP camera upfront with a dual 12MP setup at the back. Xiaomi also claims that this is the first phone in the world with dual GPS which gives more accuracy. The design of the phone is a replica of iPhone X.
Xiaomi Mi 8 is the world’s first in a lot of aspects
Xiaomi has given its best shot with the new phone i.e. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer edition. The phone is the world’s first to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. This is also the first time an Android phone uses pressure sensitivity. This is also the first Android phone to feature 3D face scanning technology, just like the iPhone X. There is equivalent of Animojis onboard as well. This phone can do all that and more given the feature set. Xiaomi is pushing the technology envelope into a new horizon.
The Mi 8 will start from $421 and the Explorer edition will start from $577. This is a steal considering the specs and performance. Oh and did we mention, it has a score of 105 on DxOMark. Xiaomi Mi 8
